Mongrix OS is an independent Linux distribution for anyone who is a fan of Linux. It is simple, secure and lightweight. It is built from Linux From Scratch 13.1, uses systemd and targets x86_64.

Why it exists

The project started from a love of Linux: the way it puts you in full control of your operating system and never stops you from doing whatever you want.

What makes it different

• Learning. Mongrix OS is built to teach how Linux is put together. The whole build is scripted from start to finish, so you can follow every step.
• Control. You decide everything and nothing is hidden.
• Security. A minimal system keeps the attack surface small.
• Latest versions. The aim is to build from the newest upstream sources.
• Reproducible. The same scripts give you the same system every time.
